On Nov 12-13, the 2023 Wuhan-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Entrepreneurs and Alumni Exchange Conference was held in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Tang Chao, director of the management committee of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), conducted visits to several Shenzhen-based companies and actively promoted the zone during the Guangzhou conference.
The GBA, known for its openness and dynamic economy, holds a crucial position as Wuhan's significant investment and industrial coordination partner.
As outlined by Tang, WEDZ is strategically focused on three development directions: intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), new energy vehicles (NEVs), and software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The zone has implemented action plans for NEV and ICV industries, along with the auto spare parts sector. The initiative aims to increase NEV proportion to the overall automobile output to 50 percent and achieve an auto parts-to-whole price ratio of 0.6:1 within the next three years.
During the conference, Tang presented key metrics such as average costs on land, human resources for entrepreneurship, as well as living costs, and average wages for white-collar workers. Wuhan-based entrepreneurs lauded the investment and business environment of WEDZ during their speeches.
The event culminated in the signing of a new batch of innovation projects for WEDZ, signifying a positive step forward in the zone's development.
