Unmanned driving shuttle service available at Wuhan airport

Baidu Robotaxi announced the launch of its autonomous driving shuttle services at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport on Aug 25, taking the lead in China to provide such services between urban areas and airports and making Baidu the first Chinese enterprise to have such business.

Currently, Wuhan has opened 1,462.9 kilometers of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) testing roads, reaching a population of over four million people. The total testing duration has exceeded 530,000 hours, with more than 330,000 travel service orders placed and over 420,000 passengers served.

In May 2022, Baidu's autonomous driving travel service platform, Baidu Robotaxi, settled in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ). As of June 30th, 2023, Baidu Robotaxi has taken over 3.3 million travel service orders, with 714,000 rides provided in the second quarter, representing a stunning 149-percent surge year-on-year.
