The 31st FISU Summer World University Games came to a close on Aug 8 in Chengdu. The Chinese sports delegation won 103 gold medals and 178 total medals, ranking first on both accounts.
A total of 6,500 university athletes from 113 countries and regions participated in the competitions. Xing Hang from Jianghan University won silver in the shooting women's 50-meter rifle three positions team event and bronze in the shooting women's 10-m air rifle individual and team events.
In the finals, Xing competed against foreign athletes from South Korea, India, Iran, and other countries.

Sun Hongjing, from the same university, won the bronze medal in the 2000-m women's single sculls event. Sun Hongjing has nearly a decade of training and competition experience. This was her first time participating in a world-class event with a single scull.
