The International Fitness Games of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) in 2023 kicked off on Aug 6 to celebrate the National Fitness Day that fell on Aug 8.
The games will reportedly last for three months, featuring more than 100 sports events and experience activities, including basketball, soccer, tennis, skiing, martial arts, and swimming.
From August 6 to mid-August, numerous stadiums will welcome the public for free or at minimal admission fees, allowing citizens to enjoy sports activities to the fullest.

As per a representative from the Bureau of Culture and Tourism at WEDZ (Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone), this year's fitness games have been organized across multiple venues including Zhuankou, Junshan, and Hannan areas. These engaging games will feature captivating ice and snow as well as aquatic sports experiences, aiming to draw in a crowd of more than 5,000 participants.
WEDZ has been selected as one of the national sports industry demonstration bases by the General Administration of Sport of China. Now all the seven sub-districts in the zone have gained access to exercise fields and fitness facilities.
In addition, the zone holds more than 100 fitness activities throughout the year, which are participated by more than 100,000 residents.
