On May 22, the Wuhan Economic &Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) announced that the government examination and approval procedures for more than 300 government affairs, including business registration, food and medicine, public welfare, and construction projects, have been further streamlined.
Learning from advanced practices from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other first-tier cities, the zone's administrative examination and approval bureau has given full play to big data, facial recognition, electronic signature, and other technologies and has made a series of innovations – people don't need to wait in lines. Their applications will be received as soon as they stand in front of the service window, there are no human interventions backstage, and the result will be delivered in several seconds.
The zone has relocated resources in its government service hall and has formed three areas for government affairs for individuals, enterprises, and construction projects. Online information can now be shared across government departments, and the paperwork enterprises or persons need to submit is vastly reduced.
