The second China (Wuhan) Culture and Tourism Expo kicked off in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province on April 21.

The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) created a themed pavilion at the expo, which consisted of three exhibition areas that introduced the history, ecological efforts and culture of the zone. It promoted its new image as a preferable place to live and work.

The huge naked-eye 3D screen at the WEDZ pavilion played the zone's promotional videos, in which the Wuhan Sports Center, Dajun Mountain, Longling Mountain, Tanghu Lake and other cultural and tourism landmarks were showcased. These videos attracted a large audience at the expo.

The simulated cockpit of Dongfeng's Sharing-Bus showed scenery along Dongfeng and Chegu Avenues, allowing visitors to travel through the zone without actually being there.

Adhering to the industry-city integration concept, WEDZ has strived to address the weak links of its city functions, and has established the Tanghu Lake Cultural Palace for Workers, the Lusun Bookstore, and other public cultural infrastructures. It has set up the Shefa Mountain Three Kingdoms Historical and Cultural Park and other cultural tourism projects, successfully promoted its mass ice and snow season, and has held the closing ceremony for the People's Hundred Flower Awards, and other cultural events.

As the first national comprehensive expo to focus on culture-tourism integration, the expo lured more than 2,000 cultural and tourism agencies and organizations from home and abroad.
