"I can reach farm produce markets, physical exercise sites, drug stores and medical centers on foot. There is an elderly care service center in the community, and meals there are very cheap," said Zhang Hanxiang, who lives in the Ningkangyuan community in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.

The community is now home to more than 7,400 residents, and there are two of Wuhan's metro lines less than 1 kilometer away. Restaurants, drug stores and express delivery sites are also available within several minutes' walk.

As a pilot city in the nation in creating 15-minute living circles, Wuhan has selected a group of communities for the trial, including three located in the WEDZ.

The zone has rolled out measures to complete supporting infrastructure for its population, such as schools, hospitals, and business districts, to make it a more convenient place to live.
