The smart education model developed by schools in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) was selected as an outstanding example of digitalized education and was promoted throughout Hubei province.
More than 30 schools in the zone are now equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) innovation education equipment for new AI courses established for students.
Chen Haoming, a sixth grader at Xinhua Primary School, used corrugated paper, plastic bottles, shoe boxes, wood bricks, and other materials to create a smart temperature measuring cup.
P.E. lessons also benefit from smart devices. Jiang Shan, a P.E. teacher at Sanjiaohu Primary School, said that student performance in physical education was more difficult to assess than other topics due to the personalized nature of the subject. Now wearable smart devices have made it possible to know students' exercise intensity, heart rates and other data.
