Hydrogen energy is a kind of low-carbon and rich secondary energy that can be applied in many areas. It is currently becoming an important approach for the globe to reach energy transformation.
Dongfeng Motor Co is a State-owned car maker in China, and has been dealing with bottleneck technologies involved in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
On Nov 3, Dongfeng Hydrogen Boat – China's first full-power fuel cell passenger vehicle – was delivered to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and now is applied in Foshan city in online car hailing, ferrying, and other fields.
The production model only consumes 0.75 kilogram of hydrogen to run 100 kilometers, with its hydrogen fuel cell efficiency reaching 60 percent, and the hydrogen utilization rate reaching 95 percent.
So far, Dongfeng has 298 approved invention patents, and during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Dongfeng will invest more in the R&D of core technologies used in the making of hydrogen fuel cells, to achieve the high-quality development of the automobile industry.
