The China National Intellectual Property Administration recently issued the results of the 2022 national intelligent property right (IPR) demonstration and advanced enterprise assessment, with seven companies located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) making the list.
Among them, Wuhan Tongji Modern Pharmaceutical Technology Co was selected as a national IPR demonstration enterprise, while Wuhan Construction Engineering (Group) Co, VOYAH Motor Co, and four other firms won the title of national IPR advanced enterprise.
The zone is currently home to three IPR demonstration enterprises and 12 IPR advanced enterprises.
IPR advanced and demonstration enterprises usually boast a strong IPR management and protection mechanism and are able to undertake major industrial development programs.
Wuhan Tongji Modern Pharmaceutical Technology Co, for example, is a national high-tech enterprise integrating raw materials for drugs, R&D, production, sales, circulation of drugs, and high-end medical equipment. To date, the firm has 30 approved IPRs, eight of which are invention patents.
Wuhan Construction Engineering (Group) Co, committed to smart construction, has 38 invention patents and 521 patents for utility models.
Currently, 15 corporations are included in the zone's IPR advanced enterprise cultivation bank. Over the past three quarters of this year, a total of 1,819 invention patents applied for by local enterprises have been approved, a year-on-year increase of 79.21 percent.
