A meeting on the 20th CPC National Congress was held in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on Oct 26.
Liu Ziqing, secretary of the zone's working committee, delivered a keynote speech, calling for adherence to the requirements put forward during the 20th CPC National Congress.
Liu pointed out that the zone will strive to double its economic scale, number of market entities, and population, figure out its role in the Wuhan metropolitan area consisting of the cities of Wuhan, Ezhou, Huanggang and Huangshi, coordinate the city and industrial layouts in a scientific manner, and make WEDZ a sub-center of Wuhan that boasts complete infrastructure, public services and industrial systems.
The zone is expected to build a new automobile industrial ecosystem, boost the upgrading and transformation of the industrial structure, set up more innovation and entrepreneurship incubators, lead a green development path, and strengthen co-existence between nature and humans.
