The new research and development center for multinational automotive electronics supplier and Fortune 500 company Visteon Corporation was unveiled on Sept 21 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, or WEDZ – located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province – according to local media reports.

The Visteon Asia Pacific Wuhan Technology Center is the second such facility established by the US group Visteon in China. It is expected to boost its competitiveness in that giant market, as well as help the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle sectors in the WEDZ to further extend their supply chains.

Michigan-based Visteon is a leading international manufacturer of smart interior systems for auto cockpits. With its manufacturing plants, technical centers, sales centers and joint ventures around the world, the group designs, develops and manufactures cockpit electronics and provides intelligent and connected vehicle solutions for major automakers globally.

The company's product portfolio includes high-performance cockpit domain controllers, large and high perception displays and intelligent battery management systems.
