The fourth list of national specialized and new little giant companies was released recently by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Three companies owned by Hubei Dinglong Holdings Co, which is located in the Wuhan Economic &Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), made the list.
Founded in 2000 and listed in 2010, Dinglong is mainly involved in the research and development, production and service of integrated circuit chip design and manufacturing materials, photoelectric display materials, and the printing and copying of general consumables. It has been selected as a national high-tech enterprise, national technological innovation demonstration firm, and State-level intellectual property right benchmark company.
The OLED display material and key panel manufacturing material project initiated by Dinglong, and participated in by TCL, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other units has been launched as one of 13 provincial major sci-tech projects.
Last October, Dinglong invested 200 million yuan ($29.1 million) in setting up its advanced material innovation institute in WEDZ, which is expected to open in October this year.
For the past 10 years, the company has collectively allocated 1.15 billion yuan to build several national innovation platforms and currently has more than 1,100 approved international and Chinese patents, with 565 of them being invention patents.
