An entrepreneurship salon was held on Aug 19 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), in which representatives from more than 30 automobile makers and auto spare part suppliers gathered to discuss the development momentum of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and smart manufacturing.

The salon had been organized twice before by the WEDZ government. It is expected to be a bridge for communication among the government, industrial associations and enterprises, smoothen domestic circulation, and promote the rapid, healthy and sustainable development of the automobile industry.

After 30 years of development, WEDZ is home to nine car makers all capable of producing NEVs. In the next two to three years, the zone's NEV output is expected to make up over 50 percent of total car output, and the zone will become an indispensable force in China's NEV and intelligent connected vehicle industrial landscape.

Dreamer – VOYAH's second production model – features chips developed through the company's in-depth coordination with domestic technology such as Tencent. Cao Yi, representative of VOYAH, said at the salon that whether a NEV maker can lead the whole industry depends on its products' intrinsic value and sustainability.

Also worth noting was a speech themed on skateboard-related innovations and practices. It was delivered by Qu Xintian, a senior official at the Dongfeng Motor Corporation Technical Center. Qu interpreted the application prospects and industrialization of three generations of skateboards based on existing policies, demands and technologies. Many technology firms expressed a strong will to cooperate with Dongfeng in skateboard development.
