To celebrate the 14th National Fitness Day on Aug 8, the 6th Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) Mass Fitness Sports Meet was held at the Wuhan Sports Center. The event will last for five months and include more than 100 sports competitions and experience activities to engage more residents during the event.
The first experience activity was held on the same day, with dozens of children skating and skiing under the guidance of coaches. In addition, the center also opened courts and fields for soccer, swimming, table tennis, badminton and basketball for free.
Consisting of more than 20 sports and 100 events, the sports meet is being participated in by several social groups, and has sub-venues in Junshan, Zhuankou, and Hannan areas.
WEDZ is a national sports industry demonstration base approved by the General Administration of Sport of China, and was also a municipal talent cultivation base for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
