The 2022 Auto Valley Auto Shopping Season was jointly unveiled on June 15 by the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) and Dongfeng Motor Co.
The zone and the company issued 10 shopping incentives to subsidize Dongfeng car purchasers. From June 13 to the end of this year, consumers who buy Dongfeng gasoline-fueled automobiles and new energy vehicles (NEVs), get their license plates in Wuhan, and pay the vehicle and vessel tax in WEDZ, will be granted subsidies of 3,000 yuan ($445.2) and 5,000 yuan, respectively.
In addition, Dongfeng is offering discounted car loans, insurance and replacements to buyers.
Dongfeng is headquartered in WEDZ. The company has also started joint ventures and established NEV workshops there. Tang Chao, director of the zone's administrative committee, highlighted these incentives as counteracting the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to spur local consumption and inject vitality into the auto supply side.
These incentives apply to many Dongfeng brands, including VOYAH, Honda, Peugeot Citroen, and Nissan, as well as different production models such as sedans, SUVs and MPVs.
Six Dongfeng car buyers received their subsidies and keys at the event. Chen Peidong, a security manager working at a WEDZ-based logistics firm, was among them. He enjoyed a 40,000-yuan discount on the purchase of a pure electric VOYAH FREE.
