The Wuhan Economic &Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) will invest about 20 million yuan ($2.98 million) to plant 30 hectares of flowers, create a flower-themed block and three mosaicultures, and make more efforts to host the Wuhan Chrysanthemum Show this year.

The government plans to plant a variety of vegetation at 43 sites, including the intersection of Shefashan Road and Liangjun West Road and the intersection of Chegu Avenue and Tongshun Avenue. The new green spaces will exceed 20,000 square meters in total.

Last year, the zone invested nearly 50 million yuan in flower decorations and planted about 20 hectares of flowers. There are currently many flower-viewing sites available at Longling Mountain, Houguanhu Park and other scenic spots.

An official from the zone's natural resources and planning bureau said they are currently working on an overall flower decoration scheme that will enable residents to admire flowers year-round.
