This year, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) plans to add 10 more green stations in its Zhuankou, Zhuanyang and Junshan sub-districts in addition to the 10 already existing ones.
"Green stations" are government-funded green sharing spaces built in communities. They are usually governed and managed by property management companies and residents of the community. They host tree planting activities, lectures on planting, and other similar activities.
The green station construction project was launched jointly by the Wuhan municipal bureau of gardening and forestry and the Wuhan municipal forestation commission. There are currently 100 such stations in Wuhan's 10 urban areas.
