A truck fleet loaded with hot dry noodles, lotus root soup and other Hubei specialties, as well as instant noodles, plum juice, and soda, departed from Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) on April 20, headed for Shanghai.
To help Shanghai, which is struggling with its most severe COVID-19 outbreak, various organizations in the zone have collected 4,200 boxes of life necessities to send to the city.
"Two years ago, we were thankful to see how people all over the nation came together to assist Wuhan, and we want Shanghai to feel the same way," said Yao Liangjun, president of WEDZ's internet industry chamber of commerce.
Hubei Chinese Online Digital Publishing Co donated 20,000 reading membership cards, through which Shanghai residents can read electronic versions of many best sellers and literary classics.
The fleet arrived at its destination 15 hours after its departure, with the goods set to be distributed to residents soon.
