From January to March, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) had signed technology contracts valued at 1.57 billion yuan ($246.02 million), exceeding the yearly target by 52.43 percent.
The mounting contract number demonstrates enterprises' enhanced awareness of the importance of registering their technology contracts. The contracts mainly involve the fields of auto making, smart manufacturing, digital economy, and technical output.
Consistently prioritizing the market's decisive role in the distribution of innovative resources, high-quality technology supplies, and high-level technology transfers, the zone has seen its business in the technology market improved in terms of both quality and quantity.
Last year, WEDZ rolled out the "33 Measures to Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship", absorbing technologies developed at universities and research institutes and encouraging them to transfer within the zone. The government has also doubled down on efforts to foster technology transfer demonstration agencies to accelerate the process.
