Electricfil Engine Components (Wuhan) Co, a France-based firm in the Wuhan Ecomonic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) has announced its decision to build a second manufacturing plant in the zone, according to local news reports on March 17.
Construction on the new plant will start at the end of April and focus on the production of supporting parts for new energy vehicles with an estimated annual turnover of 300 million yuan ($47.13 million).
Founded in 2004, the company is the only wholly owned subsidiary of EFI Automotive Group. Its main products – gearboxes and position sensors – occupy more than 20 percent of the market share in China.
Investment in the second plant will later be expanded and EFI Auto is expected to establish its research center in Wuhan.
EFI Auto currently works with many domestic car makers, including Geely, NIO, Changan, and BYD.
