Wuhan Perfect Laboratory Equipment Co based in the Automobile and Auto Parts Industrial Park of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) is a professional laboratory equipment supplier that ranks among the top five in terms of domestic market share.
The company is now committed to the construction of Wuhan's first P3 laboratory, or first lab that reaches third-level biological safety protection standards. The lab will be ready in August this year and will be used by the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the research and testing of micro-organisms.
So far, 40 percent of construction has been completed, said Wang Fei, technical director of the firm.
The lab consists of three independent experiment areas – a preparation area, a buffer area, and a core area. Researchers will not be able to enter the core area unless they are equipped with safety protection devices in the preparation area, and with the self-contained positive pressure air breathing apparatus in the buffer area, according to Wang.
The air in the lab will be completely sealed, and will be emitted after a series of harmless treatments. Labs are extremely complex, requiring craftsmanship and technology for ventilation and the processing and emission of all kinds of pollutants.
Wuhan Perfect Laboratory Equipment Co took the initiative to build the nucleic testing department of Huoshenshan Hospital in 2020, and has built more than 5,000 labs across China for chemical, medical, and physical research. Last year, it was named a provincial little giant firm.
