A landscaping work symposium was held on March 8 in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), attended by Liu Ziqing, secretary of the zone's working committee, and Tang Chao, president of the zone.
Liu urged in the meeting that full use be made of high-quality ecological resources, including Longling Mountain, Dajun Mountain and Wuhu Lake Wetland, and that iconic boulevards be built in the zone.
Tang stressed the necessity to reinforce landscape maintenance and complete a long-term management mechanism for existing green spaces.
WEDZ is rich in ecological resources, with 5,024 hectares of woodlands, 4,857 hectares of forests, 16 mountains under municipal protection, a green coverage rate of 44.08 percent, and a per-capita green space of 17.5 square meters.
The zone's government units in charge of landscaping plan to add and improve 43 parks and add 60 kilometers of green trails.
