Automobile researching and manufacturing giant Dongfeng Motor – located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) – ranked 11th in a recent State-level corporate technology center assessment of 1,744 major enterprises in China.
The State-level corporate technology center is reportedly supported by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Taxation Administration, and is considered one of the most influential centers of its kind.
The centers are evaluated based on indicators such as innovative personnel, innovation platforms, productivity, technology accumulation and output.
As a core facility in charge of Dongfeng's R&D, product development, and technology management, Dongfeng Technology Center has undertaken many key national and provincial projects in fields such as materials, fuel cell systems, and intelligent networks.
In 2021, the center focused on advancing more than 60 research projects involving new energy and intelligent driving in a bid to fulfill the country's dual-carbon goals.
