A team led by Liu Ziqing, secretary of the working committee of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), visited Dongfeng Motor Co, a pioneering firm in the zone's pillar industry of automobile manufacturing, on Feb 11. After in-depth discussions, the two parties agreed that they will broaden cooperation channels to achieve mutual benefits.
Zhu Yanfeng, chairman of Dongfeng Motor, expressed his sincere gratitude to the zone, which has offered various forms of assistance to help the firm overcome the negative impact of the pandemic and the ongoing chip shortage. Both domestic and overseas sales of new energy and passenger cars independently developed by Dongfeng have boomed, bringing the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) off to a good start.
Dongfeng will continue pursuing its technological transformation campaign focusing on new energies and intelligent connected vehicles.
Acknowledging the long-term dedication and contribution of the company to the zone, Liu Ziqing said that Dongfeng and the zone cannot afford developing without each other, and hoped the firm to establish more programs and share more business resources with the zone.
The zone will steadfastly support and serve Dongfeng by offering more detailed and considerate services to major projects invested in by the firm, and will continue to assist Dongfeng in market exploring.
