China beat South Korea in the AFC Women's Asian Cup final on Feb 6. This is the ninth time the team has had such a triumph, and the team had been waiting for the honor for 16 years.
Among the players on the champion team, five are from the women's football club of Jianghan University, which is located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ). Their names are Wang Shuang, Zhu Yu, Yao Wei, Ma Jun and Liu Yanqiu.
According to Jiang Guoqin, vice president of the School of Sports of Jianghan University, Zhu Yu is still in her senior year, and Yao Wei and Liu Yanqiu have already graduated.
Wang Shuang impressed the world with her skills. Despite her absence in the semi-finals due to injury, she scored five times and helped her teammates score three times during the previous three competitions.
Goalkeeper Zhu Yu beat Japanese players in penalty kicks, and has made many seemingly impossible shots during the finals. Yao Wei as the back has given the team a solid defense.

The women's football club of Jianghan University was reportedly established by Jianghan University, the Wuhan Football Association, and the Wuhan Sports Center. It is China's only university-inflicted women's football club, with the majority of players being the university's undergraduates.
