The regional energy conservation review report and the regional flood impact review report enacted by the bureau of development and reform and the bureau of water affairs and lakes of the of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) have taken effect on Jan 27.
This has reportedly removed the burden on companies involved in the reviews in the WEDZ – located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province.
Businesspeople having projects to be constructed in the zone now no longer need to seek advice from professional institutions for their energy conservation assessments. All they need to do is to register relevant information for a filing, which can save business costs and reduce the time needed for review procedures.
The move is a requirement of the government reform to delegate power, minimize procedures and optimize services, aiming to improve the business environment.
Last year, the WEDZ took the initiative to carry out the unified regional review reform, targeting reviews in nine areas – including environmental impacts, water and soil conservation, flood impacts and energy conservation.
In addition to energy conservation and the flood impacts, review reports on other seven aspects will soon come into effect, according to local media reports.
