ECARX Technology Co, a unicorn firm in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), will reportedly commercialize its fourth generation of automotive chips this year.
Meanwhile, "Dragonhawk One", a seven-nanometer intelligent cockpit chip independently developed by SiEngine Technology Co, a company founded jointly by ECARX and Arm China, will achieve mass production after it undergoes automotive grade recognition. Development of the chip took two years and required more than 300 engineers.
The fourth generation of chips are said to be 13 times more capable than the existing chips and will be widely applied in high-end car brands such as Lotus, Lynk & Co, and Volvo.
"This year, our international operation center in London will begin operating, injecting vitality into our global management and talent structure and laying a solid foundation to advance the global market," said an official from ECARX.
