Moin ul Haque, ambassador of Pakistan to China, visited the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Central China's Hubei province on Nov 3.

The ambassador first visited the exhibition area of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Wuhan) Pilot Testing Zone to learn about the operation of self-driving vehicles. He also experienced the intelligent bus applying the self-driving technology at Longling Mountain Ecological Park, and praised the technology when the bus turned, reduced its speed, stopped at the station, and backed into parking spaces without any human intervention.

"Autonomous driving is an important technology for the global community, and China has excelled in this field," said the ambassador. The government of Pakistan has rolled out a series of policies to support the development of new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles. He invited Wuhan-based enterprises to invest in Pakistan and make smart roads and vehicles a reality in the country.

Liu Ziqing, director of WHDZ's working committee, delivered a welcome speech for Moin ul Haque, highlighting the special friendship between Chinese and Pakistani people since the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties 70 years ago.

Hailing Wuhan as a green, gorgeous and smart city, the ambassador expressed his respect to Hubei province for its perseverant fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and showed his gratitude toward China's long-standing contribution to Pakistan's economy.
