The China Communications Construction Co (CCCC) Water Environment Technology Research Center was unveiled in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Oct 11.
Wang Hao, Zhang Jie, and Yin Weilun, three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, will work as high-ranking officials at the research center, committed to tackling challenges in core technologies and worldwide problems in the water environment field.
Liu Ziqing, secretary of the WHDZ working committee, and Sun Ziyu, CCCC's vice general manager, attended the unveiling ceremony.
The research center is the first of its kind established by CCCC, and is headquartered in WHDZ. It will strive to become a leading international innovation platform for the development of water environment technology by focusing on water pollution governance, water resource security and utilization, water eco-system restoration, and coordinated equipment research.
The research center officially announced its latest achievements in V-MBR (vibration membrane bioreactor) technology, which is a cutting-edge low-carbon frontier that has solved bottlenecks inflicted by traditional membrane bioreactors. This technology can not only reduce energy consumption, but also reuse recycled water resources.
