AI science park in WHDZ expected to begin full operation in Nov

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Science Park in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province is expected to begin operating at full capacity in November, according to local authorities.

The park, located on Dongfeng Avenue in the WHDZ, went into official operation at a limited capacity on Aug 20 last year.

It covers an area of some 200 mu (13.33 hectares) and a building area of 260,000 square meters, and received a total investment of 2 billion yuan ($310 million). The park is intended to become a high-tech park focusing on AI, big data and cloud computing technology.

It is divided into five major groups according to function - the autonomous and controllable information creation group, the AI cloud entertainment group, the AI smart network connection group, the industrial internet group and the intelligent life group.

Future investment promotion will be carried out according to the five major groups to ensure that the enterprises entering the park conform to the future development plan of WHDZ.

During its trial operation period, the park attracted more than 30 well-known enterprises such as Tencent Cloud Artificial Intelligence Industry Empowerment Center and Baidu Cloud Intelligence Academy Artificial Intelligence Base.
