Cutting-edge products developed by iFLYTEK Huazhong (Wuhan) Co – a subsidiary of Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) and speech recognition firm iFLYTEK Co – reportedly stole the limelight at the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services, or CIFTIS, which opened in the national capital Beijing on Sept 2.

The unit, based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, or WHDZ – located in Wuhan city, in Central China's Hubei province – showcased its latest intelligent learning machine for students at the event.

The device can reportedly "read and count" and it can accurately recognize handwritten test papers.

The latest artificial intelligence education equipment and technology developed by the company is now being (check) used in more than 800 schools in Hubei province.

It is understood that iFLYTEK Co is to develop its Central China headquarters, an artificial intelligence research institute and an artificial intelligence industry acceleration center in the WHDZ, following the signing of a contract on April 8.

The projects are expected to involve an investment of 5 billion yuan ($773 million).

In May, iFLYTEK Huazhong (Wuhan) Co introduced a large-scale applications project for smart education to the WHDZ, with a total investment of 469 million yuan.

The project is said to use artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and other technologies to comprehensively collect daily homework and examinations data.

It can also provide data support for teachers through intelligent analysis, making teaching more accurate and management more scientific.
