A total of 21 major projects are to be introduced to Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ or Hannan) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, following a cooperation agreement signed on July 7, according to local media reports.
The 12 projects cover strategic emerging areas such as the digital economy, next-generation automobiles and new energy, and are expected to inject vitality into the high-quality development of WHDZ.
Among them, a new energy and smart car demonstration project is to be developed by Jianghan University with an investment of 16 million yuan ($2.47 million).
The project will explore a new model of integrated development of intelligent networked production, education and research, and promote the improvement of autonomous driving application systems and the training of professional talents.
The day also saw the release of the "33 Measures to Promote Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Creation and Development to Help Build a National Science and Technology Innovation Center".
The Measures expand the scope of support to small, medium and micro enterprises and service organizations in the development zone, filling the gap in supporting policies for such enterprises.
