A new photovoltaic substrate material production line project is set to be introduced to Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, according to local media reports.

The project, developed by Yijun Yaoneng New Material (Wuhan) Co, will boast an annual output of 20 million square meters of new photovoltaic substrate materials after it goes into production.

Currently, the development zone is striving to build a "3+N" modern industrial system with auto vehicles, new energy, and new materials as the three pillar industries, and smart homes, general aviation, life and health, high-end equipment, modern architecture, and high-tech agriculture as its characteristic industries.

By 2025, the regional gross domestic product (GDP) of WHDZ is expected to reach 330 billion yuan ($51.55 billion), and the added value of its strategic emerging industries will account for 18 percent of the regional GDP.
