The Central China Intelligence Valley, located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, has been selected as a provincial-level pilot park for the deep integration of the modern service industry and the advanced manufacturing industry, according to the provincial development and reform commission.
The intelligence valley is one of two parks in Wuhan that have been included in the list, and is the only pilot park featuring cultural industries.
Constructed and operated by Wuhan Cultural Investment Group, the intelligence valley is the fourth national digital publishing base approved by the former National Press and Publication Administration, and the first national digital publishing base in Central China. It is a national copyright demonstration park.
It covers an area of 246.6 mu (14.66 hectares) and is home to more than 140 well-known enterprises (institutions) such as the Harbin Institute of Technology Robot Wuhan Co, CBIM, and the Wuhan Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, forming a digital cultural industry park focused on digital publishing.
The intelligence valley covers digital, cultural and economic industries such as digital publishing, digital culture, digital technology, animation and games, film and television media, and internet technology.
In 2020, the Wuhan Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and local enterprises co-organized 13 activities relating to the commercial application of scientific and technological achievements, reaching a contract amount of 767 million yuan ($119.81 million), a year-on-year increase of 200 percent.
