The Wuhan ISA International School is coming to the Smart Eco-City in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, it was announced during the International Education Forum of Central China on May 29.
With a total investment of $250 million, the school is currently the largest international education project in Wuhan. It aims to start enrollment in 2022 and has 4,000 study positions.
It will be built in accordance with international standards, in order to attract high-end international education-related enterprises, enhance the region's attractiveness to international elites, and form an international educational ecosystem covering international education, sport, and art.
The ISA International School's Wuhan campus will boast two schools, with one specifically targeting international students.
It will provide a full international education, from kindergarten and elementary school through to middle school and high school, for students aged 2-18.
According to statistics, there are about 20,000 foreigners living permanently in Hubei province, and 81 percent of them are in Wuhan.
As a national development zone, WHDZ is the area with the largest number of foreigners and the highest degree of internationalization in Wuhan.
As early as 15 years ago, the development zone established the city's first international community - Golden Harbor International Community.
In recent years, in order to attract high-end international talents, WHDZ has continuously improved its level of internationalization and created a good living environment for international expats. A number of high-quality international education and medical resources are rapidly gathering in the zone.
At present, the zone boasts a number of international schools such as Wuhan Yangtze International School, Wuhan Foreign Languages School, and Wuhan San New School.
