The Hubei Dinglong Co carrier team has been awarded the title of "National Worker Pioneer", according to an announcement by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions on April 27.
Hubei Dinglong Co, located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), is a national high-tech enterprise focusing on the research and development (R&D) and production of new materials. Its "carrier" team was established in 2014 and is mainly responsible for carrier R&D and production tasks.
The carrier is a key consumable in high-speed copiers. Due to the high technical threshold of this product and the difficulties involved in its research and development, the country has long relied on overseas imports, which has severely restricted the development of the domestic high-speed copier industry.
According to company officials, the company has established the only carrier R&D team in China, and successfully built a complete set of carrier R&D and production lines that are unique in China and internationally advanced.
The team has formed a production line with an annual production capacity of 1,000 metric tons of carriers. It has also formulated national standards for carriers, obtained more than 10 invention patents, and has achieved sales revenues of more than 10 million yuan ($1.56 million).
