IFLYTEK Co is to develop its Central China headquarters, an artificial intelligence research institute, and an artificial intelligence industry acceleration center in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, following the signing of a contract on April 8, according to local media reports.
The projects are expected to draw an investment of 5 billion yuan ($765 million).
According to iFLYTEK officials, the company plans to build its Central China headquarters within three years. It will employ 3,000 people and create an output value exceeding 1 billion yuan.
The company and Dongfeng Motor Corporation, an auto manufacturer based in WHDZ, have conducted in-depth cooperation for many years.
In the future, the company will cooperate with more local enterprises based in Wuhan in the fields of intelligent connected vehicles and the digital economy, and actively promote the hosting of summits and forums, showing off top-line brands in the field of artificial intelligence in WHDZ.
Founded in 1999, iFLYTEK began to introduce projects to Wuhan in 2017. Its research and development team in Wuhan employs more than 1,000 people. It is currently the leading company in domestic intelligent voice-activated technology and artificial intelligence.
