Auto manufacturer Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co, located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), reported a 175 percent growth in its sales volume in the first quarter of 2021.
The company has now achieved positive year-on-year growth for four consecutive months, since December 2020.
The company has two brands - Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen.
Dongfeng Peugeot's sales volume increased by 203 percent year-on-year, and the sales volume of Dongfeng Citroen cars increased by 127 percent year-on-year.
At the start of the first month of 2021, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co entered a state of busy production and delivery.
In the first quarter of this year, the engine and gearbox workshop production lines of the Xiangyang plant both started full-load production. Engine output reached 23,890 units and the export of gearbox steel parts exceeded 670,000.
The Wuhan plant abides by strict quality controls and has issued a number of quality improvement standards. In the first quarter, various quality indicators improved by different degrees from the previous quarter to the same period from the previous year.
The Chengdu plant achieved mixed-line production of multiple models and completed export shipments. The number of vehicles delivered on a daily basis exceeded 460, a new record high in the past three years.
While making full efforts in terms of service and marketing channels, the company continues to optimize the performance configuration of its related dual-brand models to further enhance its product competitiveness.
In 2021, it will launch Citroen's global strategic models, as well as the new 4008, the new Peugeot 5008 and other models to enrich its product offering.
