Graduates from the robotics major at Wuhan Business University in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) have recorded a high employment rate, with all 76 of the students set to graduate this summer receiving job offers, according to local media reports.

Wuhan Business University was the first university in Hubei province to be approved for an undergraduate major in robotics engineering. It officially created its robotics major and started enrollment in 2017.

After graduation, students can work for robot system integration manufacturers, intelligent manufacturing applications of industrial robots and other companies. They can engage in robot workstation design, assembly and transformation, robot automation production line design, application and operation management.

As early as 2011, on the basis of the applied electronic technology major, the university and the Germany-based DIPLOMA Fachhochschule Nordhessen jointly ran a school with the Mechatronics Engineering major, and cultivated a group of talents with the ability to operate industrial robots on-site, as well as delivering maintenance and after-sales services.

In 2016, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of an undergraduate major in robotics for the first time. Based on the foundation of Sino-German cooperation in running schools, Wuhan Business University became one of the first batch of universities in the country to declare and be approved.

In August 2017, the first batch of 76 enrollment places in the robotics engineering major were all filled. In 2018, 92 students were enrolled, 102 students were enrolled in 2019, and 93 students were enrolled in 2020.
