The event, jointly held by the Hubei Provincial Government, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, AmCham China and the Japan External Trade Organization, is aimed at creating more cooperation opportunities in foreign trade, and establishing dialogues with Fortune 500 companies.
Ying Yong, secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, addressed the meeting. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to friends from all walks of life and from all parts of the world for being supportive and getting involved in the long-term development of the province.
He also gave an overview of the year 2020, when Hubei met with unprecedented challenges arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
The sound response of the central government, the assistance from the rest of the nation, as well as the Hubei people's own perseverance, contributed to a victory both in terms of control of the disease and in Hubei's economic growth, Ying concluded.
Gao Yan, head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), also delivered a speech. In her opinion, China's dual circulation development paradigm, which sees the domestic market as the mainstay with the domestic and international markets reinforcing each other; the wider opening-up of rules, regulations and standards; and the law-based, market-oriented and internationalized business environment will mean more business opportunities for all participants in China's economy.
She also emphasized the role of the CCPIT as a public service provider in foreign trade, and pledged to help more enterprises seize the momentum of high-quality development.
