Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province is to continue to develop itself into an even more people-friendly city in 2021, by upgrading its plazas and shopping malls, adding 100 more pocket parks, and enhancing its medical services, according to local media reports.
In 2021, Wuhan Mall and Wuhan International Plaza will undergo a new round of renovation and upgrading, and Center 66 is expected to open in the first quarter of this year.
In order to improve Wuhan's park service coverage network, Wuhan will build another 100 pocket parks this year.
The pocket park is a new concept that has evolved in recent years. They are created by developing unbuilt urban green space, idle land and urban micro-spaces. Typically, they are small-scale public spaces that have a certain functional flexible use.
It is a kind of park that is convenient for residents to reach and can meet the diverse needs of residents.
To meet the needs of urban development and to make up for any current shortcomings, Wuhan city will adjust and optimize the layout and structure of its medical and health resources, and strengthen the construction of municipal and district hospitals.
This year, Wuhan will coordinate the advancement of the renovation and expansion of hospitals such as the Children's Hospital of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (Hannan), and Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus to improve medical conditions in areas with relatively weak medical resources.
