Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, released its goals for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) at a conference held on Dec 20, according to local media reports.
During the period, the WHDZ is to comprehensively promote high-quality development and develop itself into "China's Auto Valley".
The development zone will continue to be a front runner among national economic development zones and maintain first place among the economic development zones of West and Central China.
Also, WHDZ will effectively realize the long-term goal of socialist modernization by 2035. It will fully build a modern city with industry-city integration, talent attraction, high-end industries, and complete functions, which is livable and business-friendly.
Scientific and technological strength will be significantly enhanced, major breakthroughs will be achieved in key core technologies, and innovation and development capabilities will be at the forefront among the national economic development zones.
A modern economic system will be completed, realizing a new type of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization, and creating a benchmark for digital cities.
Also, a green lifestyle will be formed, and the ecological environment will be fundamentally improved.
With these advancements, a new pattern of opening-up will be formed, with the leading role of regional development and the ability to participate in global resource allocation both significantly enhanced.
