The Port Logistics Park of the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ or Hannan) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, has been promoting Yangtze River shipping businesses and striving to become a shipping hub on the Yangtze River, according to local media reports.

Since the launch of its container business in 2016, Wuhan Jingkai Port has accumulated more than 200,000 TEUs of container throughput. The cargo types cover auto parts, household appliances, non-woven fabrics, starch, and grains, with customers based all over the province.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the WHDZ Port Logistics Park had a container transportation volume of more than 300,000 TEUs, a roll-on-roll-off cargo of more than 4 million vehicles, and a cargo volume of more than 35 million tons.

Since 2019, the park's land and water transportation revenue has exceeded 520 million yuan ($79.51 million).

The WHDZ Port Logistics Park was established in 2015 to implement the Yangtze River development strategy and to further promote the transformation and upgrading of regional industrial chains.

The port logistics park has raised the standard of development in the Hannan Port Area, has introduced a series of supporting policies for the port industry, and has opened regular container shipping routes connecting WHDZ to places including Shanghai, Jingzhou and Chongqing.

After the expansion of Wuhan Port, the Hannan Port Area, which occupies some 20 percent of the Wuhan Yangtze River coastline, has become the port area with the longest coastline and the most berths.

The Hannan Port Area has three specialized areas, namely, Dengnan, Shamao and Junshan, which are responsible for import and export logistics in the local and surrounding areas.
