WHDZ to add another secondary hospital

The Hannan Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital is to be developed in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (referred to as WHDZ, and also known as Hannan), to provide better TCM services for residents, the zone's health bureau announced on Dec 5.

The hospital, with an investment of 360 million yuan ($55.08 million), will be located in the Hannan Shamao area.

The project will be implemented in accordance with the requirements of secondary TCM hospitals. It will boast a total of 350 beds.

The project includes functions such as outpatient and emergency services, medical technology, hospitalization, TCM preparations, TCM treatments, business premises, and logistical support.

The project will also set up magnetic resonance imaging devices, X-ray computed tomography devices, X-ray radiography (catheter) machines, and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy rooms to comprehensively improve the medical service system in the development zone.

The project is currently undergoing preliminary procedures. It is expected to officially start construction in January 2021 and should be completed by the end of 2022.
