Voyah, auto manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Co's premium electric vehicle (EV) brand, is to cooperate with the State Grid on charging piles and forward-looking technological research following an agreement signed on Nov 26, according to local media reports.
The two parties will focus on in-depth cooperation on charging network access, cooperative construction of charging stations, interconnected charging services and technology research, as well as jointly promoting the construction of charging infrastructure and technology research and development.
Also, they will jointly build a charging service network, promote plug-and-charge services and high-power charging technology research, so as to provide a better charging experience for Voyah customers.
Voyah has made recent progress, with the first "body-in-white" (BIW) for its medium and large high-end smart electric SUVs rolling off the assembly line on Nov 6.
The BIW is the stage in production where a car body's frame has been joined together, before painting and the engine, chassis sub-assemblies, or trim have been integrated into the structure.
Officials said it only took 100 days from Voyah's brand strategy release on July 29 until the first BIW came off the assembly line, marking the fastest turnaround ever in China's auto industry.
On Nov 25, Voyah's pre-production medium and large high-end smart electric SUV models rolled off the assembly line.
Voyah's first model will be launched during the third quarter of 2021.
