Progress is being made on major educational projects in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, it was announced at a meeting on Nov 19.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the WHDZ government spent some 1.5 billion yuan on the upgrading and expansion of schools located in the development zone, including Wuhan Jingkai Foreign Language School and Guanshidun Primary School.
The zone also promoted the construction of 10 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, including Xinhua Kindergarten and Fenghua Wei'an Kindergarten.
Among them, seven schools and kindergartens will be put into use in 2021, providing enrollment opportunities for 6,840 primary and secondary school students and 1,350 preschool-age children.
In addition, the renovation and expansion projects of 11 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens including Junshan Elementary and Middle School and Dabandao Kindergarten are underway in the development zone.
