An inland water green ship intelligent manufacturing demonstration base is to be built in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ or Hannan) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, according to local media reports.

The demonstration base, to be developed by Wuhan Waterway Shipyard, will become a national-level green ship intelligent manufacturing demonstration base upon completion.

The base will improve efficiency with the use of new energy in ships, reduce or eliminate environmental pollution, and have a good protective effect on operators and users.

Wuhan Waterway Shipyard was established in 1952. In order to support the construction of the river beach in Wuhan, it moved twice, relocating to the No2 base of small and medium ships in Hannan in 2010.

The company's business scope includes ship design, development, manufacturing, and maintenance; ship and ocean engineering technical consulting services; cargo or technology import and export; ship ancillary equipment, dredging machinery and equipment research and development and manufacturing.
