Consumer spending power in Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province has increased during this year's Nov 11 (also known as Double 11) shopping spree, according to local media reports.

On the eve of "Double 11", more than 10 new stores including POPMART City Flagship Store, Follifollie, and Yanmei Bus were set up in Wuhan, covering fashion, dining, clothing and other areas. Many of these new stores are the first of their kind in Wuhan, Central China or even the country.

According to incomplete statistics, new stores selling international brands such as Nars cosmetics and Atelier Cologne will open after "Double 11".

The head of a shopping mall in the city said that the introduction of a company's first store depends not only on the business district and location of the physical commercial entity, but also on the ranking of the city and the degree by which it matches with the brand.

Since the beginning of this year, China's epidemic prevention and control measures have been effective, and businesses have quickly recovered, injecting greater confidence in more domestic and foreign brands to expand in the Chinese market.

To provide a better customer experience, malls in Wuhan launched a "timed delivery", with packages able to be delivered to customers within two hours.

On certain shopping platforms such as Miaojie, Wuhan residents can choose to receive goods in three ways: pickup at the store, home delivery, and timed delivery. If you choose "timed delivery", orders within five kilometers of the store can be delivered regularly within two hours.

Traditional supermarkets are also trying to integrate online methods. The main stores of Wushang Supermarket and Zhongshang Supermarket invited their general managers to online live-streaming events to boost sales.
