Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, has seen a rebound in its economic performance, with the GDP decline rate in the first three quarters of 2020 narrowing by 9.1 percentage points compared with the first half of the year, according to preliminary calculations released by the Wuhan statistics bureau on Oct 27.
In the first three quarters of the year, Wuhan's GDP has seen a rebound better than that of both the country and the province, by 6.8 and 0.2 percentage points respectively.
In the first half of the year, Wuhan's GDP ranked 11th in the country. Judging from the published GDP performance of each city over the first three quarters, Wuhan has returned to the top ten in the country.
In the third quarter, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries increased by 8.6 percent over the same period last year, and the total output value of the construction industry increased by 12.9 percent.
During the period, the added value of industries above a designated scale recorded growth for three consecutive months in July, August and September, with growth rates of 1.0 percent, 0.1 percent, and 3.5 percent respectively. September hit a record high for the year.
